Other people use LG drives and they work well for them. I use an Asus drive and it works well for audio ripping. By the time the drive has been available long enough for people to get good experience with it for ripping audio CDs the drive is out of production. Which is why it's difficult to find good recommendations for a CD ripping drive. The drives I own are all older and no longer in current production. I don't know which CD or CD/DVD drive to suggest.

Then get an LG or Asus or similar full size (5.25 inch) drive and install it in the enclosure.
I'm assuming Amazon UK has the same enclosure. Get an external USB enclosure and install a good full size CD drive in the enclosure. Like 20 minutes or more for a burst mode rip and 40 minutes or more for a secure rip. The drives built into some laptops can be very slow for ripping audio CDs.
